Description.

Mollepata Salkantay is a different trek to arrive at Machu Picchu, by Inca trails little explored. The landscape and the natural beauty with exotic flora and fauna along all the adventure, crossing by valleys and mountains.

 

 

ITINERARY:

Day 01:
6:00 am. we left from the city of the Cusco and passing by the villages of Izcuchaca and Limatambo we will arrive at Mollepata (9am. approximately) here we´ll initiate our long walk of the first day with the support personnel By 12m. we serve the lunch in the denominated sector Silca Field and after that after three hours of long walk we will arrive at our first camping SORAYPAMPA.

Day 02:
After a good breakfast we prepared ourselves to undertake the longest and more difficult trek of the trip, leaving by7am. we cross the denominated site Salkantay Pampas, and follow towards the left side of the snowed UMANTAY that is next to the snowed one of SALKANTAY, by 12m we will be in the high point (next to Salkantay & Umantay about 4500 masl). In this site we observed the snowed glaciers of Salkantay and for a better view of the snow avalanches, after three hour more or less we have lunch in the denominated place HUAYRAC, after four or five hours trekking on down-hill we must install the second camping in Chaullai.

Day 03:
This day will be unforgettable because throughout the trek we will see a great variety of flora and fauna, starting off at Chaullai passing through the QOLPAPAMPA (provably we wiill some parrots) and continued descending towards the forest eyebrow, where we will appreciate the thermal water formation in a small valley, soon to follow the course of the river Salkantay, observing in this section diverse varieties of orchids and water falls of great magnitude, Lunch time in Sahuallaku ( aprox 1pm ). Later at 3 pm we ride on truck or van until arrive Santa Teresa ( one hour ).4:30 PM arriving to Santa Teresa village.

Day 04:
The departure is programmed to about 09:00 a.m. until noon in a short walk ( trek by dirt road ) by forest eyebrow appreciating great variety of coffee cultures, fruit trees, bananas, avocados trees, soon we´ll arrive at HIDROELECTRICA, lunch point. Since this point we can walk besides de train rail until Aguas Calientes or at 3:25pm we can catch the train until Aguas Calientes.5pm arriving to AGUAS CALIENTES. Where we will have our overnight in hostal.

Day 05:
Soon after breakfast we dedicated the day to the visit of the Historical Sanctuary of MACHU PICCHU, in the afternoon 3:30 pm we return to the city of the Cusco in train Back Paker and transfer to its hotel. Or the day 6th at 5:45 am we take the train to Ollantaytambo and from this point bus to Cusco. 9:15 am Cusco. We provide one more night extra in this last option.
